Solène Balaguette, a legal practitioner at the CARO Centre, was ZCL's guest on Canal 10, when she was invited to talk about the first CARO Training and Information Days.

The CARO Centre organized its first innovative Training and Information Days on April 5-7. The event was an opportunity to present the Centre's mediation, expertise, facilitation and arbitration services. It was also a chance for attendees to explore the Centre's premises and to familiarize the public - as well as legal and financial professionals - with CARO's services.

The days were organized in the form of round tables and workshops with case studies and B2B meetings.

Solène Balaguette first reminded those present about the origins of the OHADAC project, its partners, aims and achievements (such as drawing up model company laws, private international law, etc.).

She presented the various ADR (alternative dispute resolution) services offered by the Centre for anticipating and resolving disputes, as well as pointing out how these tailor-made, affordable and effective services are the key tools for business development in the Caribbean region.

Solène Balaguette emphasized the role of the neutral third party appointed by the CARO Centre, which draws on a wide network of legal practitioners and expert lawyers across the Caribbean region.

In addition, she mentioned the diverse nature of the participants who attended the three days, a diverse mix that stimulated numerous high-quality exchanges. Thanks to these discussions, it was possible to target more effectively the needs and expectations of legal practitioners, lawyers, business leaders, Territorial Collectivities and public actors in the Guadeloupe region.
