Conference “Access to Justice for All” from the Dispute Resolution Foundation of Jamaica, August 17 - 21, 2020

The team in charge of implementing the OHADAC project urges you to participate to a conference organised by the “Dispute Resolution Foundation” of Jamaica, that will be held as of Monday 17 to Friday 21 August 2020, a programme of which is attached hereto.
The objective of this institution that exists since 1994 is to foster the uses of alternative dispute resolution methods to settle conflicts in Jamaica and in neighbouring countries; by widening access to these legal practices thereby contributing to pacify relations within various spheres of the social and economic life.
The conference organised from August 17 - 21 will mainly tackle the theme “Access to Justice for All”, this concern is also at the heart of the OHADAC project.
The OHADAC project will be represented by Marie-Camille PITTON, in charge of developing the arbitration and mediation aspects of the OHADAC project. Her intervention is scheduled on August 20th during a panel devoted to “the perspectives of alternative methods of dispute settlement: past, present and future”. The panel will be shared with Sir Dennis BYRON, former President of the Caribbean Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) and Her Excellency Honourable Donna Parchment BROWN, Ombudsman in Jamaica.
